Croatian top model poses in cover of Playboy after STC’s Africa trip

“It was an offer I couldn’t refuse,” joked Lana Petanic (one of Croatia’s most successful models), when asked about her recent trip to Africa with the Shoot The Centerfold team consisting of STC photographers Jarmo Pohjaniemi and Ales Bravnicar; and fellow models Tina Brady and Mary Alejo.

Lana had been dreaming about such a journey since she was 14.

“I do travel a lot for modeling, but never to those parts of the world,” said Lana. After the big invitation, she packed her bags and jumped on the next southbound plane to Namibia.

According to Lana, the trip was a great one and took the STC team through several climate zones, landscapes, local villages and wildlife reserves, totaling over 2,000 miles in just 11 days.

“The scenery was breathtaking everywhere we stopped and new panoramic vistas waited around each new corner,” said Lana.

The weather was quite cold for African standards (it was winter) and even though the nighttime temperatures fell below zero, the determination to capture strong, once-in-a-lifetime images was stronger. The entire team braved the winds, sand and thorns and mosquitoes in their almost-sacred quest for the perfect picture.

The results of Lana’s brilliant posing are now available for viewing in Playboy’s European editions, photographed by STC’s own Ales Bravnicar. As a fashion model, she had no difficulties adapting the poses to glamour guidelines.

“I am really happy I did it!” says Lana. “It was hard work, but it was totally worth it!”

Her famous parting words at the airport? “Amazing land, amazing people and an amazing team.”
