For as long as I can remember using light modifiers, and I have used most of them in different shapes and sizes, the Chimera has always left me with a good impression of a quality product. THIS IS NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT! I’m just sharing my excitement and honest opinion. Like a “Boy meets Girl” type of thing … (Well, almost).

I am sure that anyone who has experience with MOLA or beauty dishes knows how hard is to travel with one. It’s big, clumsy, and the only reason I have put up with them is because it does create unique and beautiful lighting results.

I don’t get excited about equipment very easily, but Chimera just sent us some of their “Octa 2 Collapsible Beauty Dishes” to take to the Bahamas that fit in your back-pocket, minus the adapter-ring! I am looking forward to see these beauties in use. We also have a few extra ones for those who might (and will) fall in love with them as I have. As I said, new equipment doesn’t turn my head very often, but it was love at first sight! Finally, somebody has got it right and the nightmare traveling with a unwieldy, awkward cello-like box is over.
