Why have a one-day seminar instead of the usual two- or three-day seminar?
It all comes down to a combination of logistics, sponsors and most importantly, the attendee and sponsor requests that has been coming in for quite some time. Not everyone can afford a two-day extravaganza in Miami or the Bahamas. We know it’s hard enough just getting by without incurring the added expense of having to pack everything up travel across the country to improve your photography skills.
With this in mind, we wanted to show our appreciation and give something back to you, our previous attendees and others who are curious and not sure if photography is their cup of tea. We’ve dropped the price down to an incredibly affordable $200. An offering in this price range is normally limited to a small classroom-like seminar that has very little instructor-student interaction and not much in the way of models. And even though Saturday’s STC seminar is a one-day event, we’ve tried to put as much as possible into it to give you a good idea of what a full seminar-workshop can provide.
In STC’s opinion, models are an essential and important part of the seminar experience, even if it’s just a one-day session. This is why STC brings you only the best models we can find; recent Playmates, and even a Playmate of the Year. We do this to prove a point; photographers need to find the best and most appropriate models for their photoshoots if they’re ever to succeed. While a Playmate or fashion model might be a little too much for your wallet to handle, knowing what to look for and expect in a model is what will improve your photography immeasurably. No other seminar or workshop provides this level of professionalism to such a high degree and we are proud to be able to give our attendees an experience of a lifetime.

Clearly, STC offers much more than just a typical seminar. While most seminars only offer photography-related courses, we include business and marketing information as well. The way we see it, a good photography business is 10% good photography and 90% good business skills. It’s great to be able to say you’re a photographer, but it’s even better to say that you make a living (or at least augment your day job’s paycheck) from doing what you like. We have also come to learn that there are many types of attendee wishlists. While some attendees want the experience of shooting beautiful professional models or Playmates, others would like to learn lighting and technical aspects. A small number like networking and being in the company of fellow photographers. Then there are those that want a little of everything – not only wanting to shoot gorgeous Playmates and models, but also wanting to know about photography, lighting, how to get published, and ultimately, how to get paid.

Regardless of the category you might fall into, you’ve come to the right place! STC’s #1 goal is to ensure you have everything you need to succeed when opportunity comes knocking. And for a few of our attendees, opportunity has not only knocked, but they’ve also let it in and given it a comfortable seat! We are very pleased and proud to announce several previous seminar attendees have recently been published both in national and international magazines. During Saturday’s seminar, we will introduce them and have samples of their work on hand for your photographic education and enjoyment.

Each time we put a seminar or workshop together, it’s a very personal experience for us. It consumes an enormous amount of energy, time, planning, resources and calculations before we can all meet and come together as one voice. We’d like to share some of these details on what it takes to host a one-day seminar, equipment-wise. But before we do, STC would like to thank Samy’s Camera, Hensel-Chimera Lighting, Sunbounce Lightware, and ThinkTank for their continuing support of our educational seminar programs.
